I was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado in a family of trial lawyers. At first, I had no desire or intention of becoming a lawyer. After almost ten years of working as a retail buyer and merchandiser in Vail, Colorado, I grew bored of retail and the Vail lifestyle. I wanted to make a difference. During this time, I attended a speech by Ralph Nader in Boulder. Mr. Nader spoke about the many changes that have been made in order to make our society safer. He explained that these changes were not because of law makers, they were made by trial lawyers who fought and found justice for their clients and forced corporation to make products safer. That is when it hit then that I should go to law school. I attended the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.

It has now been 25 years since I graduated from law school. I spent this past 25 years representing injured individuals and families across Colorado. I started my own law firm as a solo lawyer in Boulder because I felt that it was the only way I could have a voice and the freedom to choose how I wanted my law practice to be. It worked out! I believe that we, as human beings should spend more time focusing on who were are being in this world and perhaps less on what we are doing. I started Debbie Taussig Law, LLC in 2017. Currently, I am the only woman owned personal injury law firm in Boulder, and my entire staff is women.

I am the past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. I have served on many boards and in leadership positions throughout the years. I attended the Trial Lawyers College in 2003 as a student and in 2011, I began teaching other students at the College.

I am an avid promotor of rescuing dogs, especially senior huskies I have four rescue senior huskies, the most recent is a 14-year-old girl. It is so rewarding to bring in a dog and see them progress from being fearful of everything to becoming loving, goofy and happy. I have been a lifelong Bronco’s fan. I love fashion, traveling and spending time outdoors with my husband and huskies.
