Debbie Taussig
Founder, Debbie Taussig Law, LLC
I was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, in a family of trial lawyers. At first, I had no desire to become one. After almost ten years working as a retail buyer and merchandiser in Vail, I grew bored with retail and the Vail lifestyle. I wanted to make a difference.
Around that time, I attended a speech by Ralph Nader in Boulder. Mr. Nader spoke about the many changes that have made our society safer, and he explained that those changes did not come from lawmakers. They came because trial lawyers fought for justice for their clients and forced corporations to make their products and the environment safer. That was when it hit me that I should go to law school.
I attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. It has now been 25 years since I graduated and have been representing injured individuals and families across Colorado ever since. I started my own firm as a solo practitioner in Boulder because I felt that was the only way I could have a real voice and the freedom to build a practice the way I wanted it. It worked out.
I founded Debbie Taussig Law, LLC in 2017. It is currently the only woman-owned personal injury law firm in Boulder, and my entire staff is women. I am a past president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and have served on many boards and in leadership positions throughout my career. I attended the Trial Lawyers College as a student in 2003, and I have been teaching other students at the College since 2011.
I am an avid promoter of rescuing dogs, especially senior huskies and I have four. It is deeply rewarding to bring in a dog who is fearful of everything, and watch them grow to become loving, goofy and happy. I have been a lifelong Broncos fan, and I love fashion, travel, and time outdoors with my husband and the huskies.
