I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, the seventh of eight children. Interestingly, my mom “hid” from the family the fact that she never graduated from high school until she was 57 when she told us that she recently obtained her GED, and then told us that she had also enrolled in college. She graduated and spoke at the graduation ceremony when she was 62. After my dad graduated from high school, he entered the Navy to fight in WW2, then worked in many jobs including owning a construction supply company while serving as the mayor of our Salt Lake suburb city. After I finished law school at BYU, my wife and I moved to Las Vegas where we have raised four exceptional, productive, and talented young women, and where I have practiced law for 30 years as a defense lawyer, trying cases on behalf of Nevada’s largest hotels/casinos and various insurance companies. About one year ago, I switched sides and started working with a talented group of PI lawyers, one of whom frequently lectures for TLU, Ben Cloward. Why I did not make this switch earlier escapes me and others. I enjoy everything ocean-oriented (body surfing, boogie boarding, building sand sculptures, deep sea fishing, watching surfers), all things sports (watching and playing), and all things musical (playing instruments, singing back-up vocals, attending Broadway musicals, doing karaoke, and watching my children perform).
